If your tooth can be restored with another type of therapy, we usually recommend taking those steps first. However, if your tooth is non-restorable or you’re in severe pain, a therapeutic dental extraction may be the best choice.

Wisdom Tooth Extractions
Impacted or partially-erupted wisdom teeth can be painful for teens. They can also press against adjacent teeth, leading to orthodontic complications or jaw pain. It’s also not uncommon to see cysts or infections develop around them. We offer wisdom tooth evaluations to help you or your teen decide what the next steps should be.

Sometimes serious injuries can break teeth or cause extreme pain. An emergency extraction may be preferred for immediate pain relief. Our OKC dentist will get you comfortable first, then discuss which options are available.

Pediatric Dental Extractions
Your child’s baby teeth play an important role in the development of their jaw, facial profile, and eruption patterns of adult teeth. If a tooth is severely infected and needs to be removed, we recommend placing a space maintainer in that area to help preserve proper bite alignment.
Sedation Options Available
Depending on the type of extraction you’re having and your personal comfort level, you may also request sedation during your appointment. Our OKC family dentist offers in-house oral conscious sedation to help you feel as if you’re taking a light nap throughout your brief procedure.
